You can develop for Android purely in Python using Kivy, but this isn’t the ideal way to go if you want to make a really nice app. Like the other guy said, you can see how these things aren’t really comparable. Kivy is intended to be cross platform and easy to use while also being a framework to get Python code to compile into something usable on Android and other devices with minimal overhead work for the developer, is my understanding.
